By accident of fortune a man may rule the world for a time, but by virtue of love and kindness he may rule the world forever.-Laozi, 600 BCE
America runs on small businesses
Small businesses account for half of our GDP and employ most of our workforce. Together, small businesses wield tremendous power, power that can change the world. Unfortunately, giving back isn’t always easy. Small businesses are short on time and giving money isn’t always practical. To give you some ideas, here are some things that we’re doing to make the world a better place.

World Community Grid
We’re a proud partner of World Community Grid (WCG) and sponsor the team Small Businesses Doing Big Things. World Community Grid is an IBM sponsored project that encourages us to use idle computer power to help do research for various causes like cancer, muscular dystrophy, AIDS, clean energy and other global issues. It’s free, it only takes a few minutes to get started and you won’t even notice it. Best of all, it’s an easy way for you and your business to get involved and give back. Read more about the program here or sign up and join our team here.
Kiva
We support Kiva, a nonprofit organization that facilitates international microfinancing to create opportunity and reduce poverty. Instead of just donating money, Kiva offers loans to hard-working small business owners and entrepreneurs on developing countries to grow their businesses and bring themselves out of poverty. Loan as little as $25 and the current loan repayment rate is around 99%, meaning we can make a significant positive impact in the lives of less fortunate people around the world with minimal financial risk. Our team is Businesses Changing the World and we’d love to have you as a member. We’re new to Kiva just like you, so sign up, join our team and start making a difference!
charity: water
We contribute to charity: water, a nonprofit organization that strives to make clean and safe drinking water available to every single person in the world. They go above and beyond to make sure 100% of every public donation goes directly to the field to fund water projects. Why is this important? Close to 1 billion people in the world don’t have clean water, that’s over 10% of the world’s population. Crazy, right? Now let’s do something about it! Thanks to Brian Gardner for introducing us to this awesome project.
